A cousin of mine tabled an issue before me yesterday. He had hired a building contractor to fix his dilapidated tenement. The contractor promised that the job will be completed in 8 months. After that set period expired, no significant headway was made. My cousin was understandably furious. But the contractor gave him all sorts of reasons in the book and pleaded with my cousin to give him another 4 months. After much consideration (tempered with mercy), my cousin reluctantly obliged. But guess what? 4 months has elapsed and the story is the same. I advised my cousin to fire him, sue him to court for dereliction of duty, and hire another contractor who can get the job done. Was that a good advice?
Incisive, fair-minded, unbiased and thought-provoking take on African and global affairs by, perhaps, the most fearless and ideologically uncompromising anti-corruption Rapper of this generation, and a strong advocate for freedom, human right, justice, equity, racial equality, and harmony across the globe.
